An industrial well, also known as a municipal water well, is created by drilling into the earth to find the location of an aquifer that contains enough water to supply the city or facility that will be using the water. Industrial water wells are then connected directly to a storage system where water distribution begins. Unlike private wells, industrial wells supply water to an entire community or operational facility.
